Hola, I’m Sasha Gomez-Valenzuela.
This space is an expression of who I am beyond titles—a place to share, reflect, and connect with those navigating their own path toward healing, growth, and wholeness.
Professionally, I serve as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW #127498) under clinical supervision at A Place to Turn, Inc., where I support individuals navigating trauma, ADHD, and relationship challenges. My approach is rooted in neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and a deep commitment to helping people feel safe in their stories.
Separately, through Sasha Consulting, Co., I offer non-clinical services such as workshops, psychoeducation, speaking, leadership consulting, and program development. These services do not involve psychotherapy but are designed to promote emotional health, improve communication, and strengthen community resilience.
I created this space because I believe people deserve to be seen—not just for what they’ve survived, but for who they’re becoming. Whether you’re here to learn more about trauma-informed education, explore consulting support for your organization, or simply connect with someone who “gets it”—I’m glad you’ve landed here.
My story includes lived experience, professional training, and a faith that anchors everything I do. I’ve been on both sides of the healing journey—first as a client, then as a clinician-in-training, and now as a guide for others. And I believe with my whole heart that healing is always possible, especially when it's grounded in truth, compassion, and connection.
Please contact me if you cannot find an answer to your question.
My primary roles include consultant, life coach, advisor, mentor, advocate, and educator. Additionally, I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) and provide clinical services at A Place to Turn, Inc., both in person and virtually.
My background is a unique blend of academic achievement, professional expertise, and personal resilience. I graduated with honors from California Baptist University with a Master of Social Work and earned my B.A. in Communications Studies from California State University, Northridge. I also hold over a dozen certifications in the field.
As a former investigative journalist, I bring a broad perspective shaped by diverse experiences that require a nuanced understanding of human behavior and societal challenges. These experiences honed my communication, research, and problem-solving abilities, which are foundational to my clinical work.
What sets me apart is the combination of my professional journey and my personal resilience. Having faced significant challenges in my youth, I offer a deep sense of empathy and insight into the struggles others face. My approach integrates a holistic perspective, blending knowledge with a genuine understanding of trauma, attachment, and human behavior complexities.
A life coach is a professional who helps individuals achieve personal or professional success by providing guidance, support, and accountability. Through strong communication skills, a life coach works closely with clients to identify their goals, overcome challenges, and unlock their full potential. My approach is personalized, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs and objectives of the individual. Coaching sessions, which can be conducted in person or virtually, are designed to offer individualized support and help clients navigate obstacles, make progress, and achieve their desired outcomes.
A consultant is a professional who provides expert advice and support in a specific area of expertise. They analyze a client’s needs, offer tailored recommendations, and help solve problems to achieve desired outcomes. Consultants leverage their specialized knowledge and experience to improve performance, optimize processes, and guide informed decision-making for their clients.
The fee charged by a consultant can vary widely depending on various factors, such as their level of expertise, the complexity of the project, the duration of the engagement, the location, and the industry. Some consultants charge an hourly rate, ranging from a few hundred dollars to thousands of dollars per hour, while others charge a fixed fee for the entire project. The fixed fee can also vary depending on the scope of the project and may include additional charges for expenses like travel, lodging, and materials. It's important to consider a consultant's value to your business, as their expertise and insights can often justify the cost of their services.
Public speaking can be an exciting opportunity for many professionals, but determining payment can pose a challenge. To begin, gather information about the event, including the number of attendees, the duration of the speech, and whether travel is required. In terms of pricing, there are general guidelines to follow. For example, speakers new to the field may earn between $500 and $2,500 per talk, while those establishing their brand may reach $5,000 to $10,000. Speakers with a strong online presence may quote $10,000 to $20,000 per talk, while well-known experts in their field, can earn $20,000 to $35,000 per talk.
